This 1980's ginseng fragrance shou pu'er is a limited lot.  With only a few kilos remaining of this particular batch in China, we are selling this aged shou pu'er for a limited time.   A true joy to drink, the flavor and viscosity is smooth on the palate.  The highly desirable fragrance of ginseng comes through with every sip.  This is truly an aged shou pu'er to be enjoyed while it is still available.

Harvest: 1980s

Cultivar: Camellia sinensis var. Assamica

Tasting Notes

Ginseng fragrance, forest floor, clean taste, woody, smooth viscosity

Brewing Recommendations

Proportion: 4-6g of tea per 100ml purified water

Ideal brewing vessel: Clay tea pot

Awaken: Pour 212F water over dry leaves and allow them to awaken for 40 seconds before discarding wash.

Steeping: Boil water to 212F and then wait for the water to stop bubbling before pouring the water into the pot. Replace the tea pot lid. Brew for a few seconds and then pour the liquor into a gong dao bei (fairness pitcher) before apportioning into tea cups.  Flash brewing in this manner ensures this tea can be brewed up to 10+ times and brewed again the following morning if left overnight.
