"Green Tara" Jasmine Pearls Bai Hao
"Green Tara" Jasmine Pearls Bai Hao
Green Tara Jasmine Green is grown in Guangzi Province, a region known for producing heicha (dark tea) and also home to Heng county, a well-known area for producing jasmine flowers. The base tea (maocha) is harvested in early spring (pre-Qing Ming), rolled into semi-pearls, and scented with jasmine flowers six times before packaging. Enjoy it as a warm tea or a cold infusion (see Brewing Recommendations).
Green Tara is the most beloved of all the female enlightened beings in the Tibetan Buddhist pantheon. She is the essence of awakened love and compassion. We were inspired to name this tea after our dear friend, Tara, who has shown us love and compassion during our 25 years of friendship. Cheers, Tara!

Brewing Recommendations
Brewing Recommendations
Serving Size: 3-5g per 100-150ml of purified water.
Ideal Brewing Vessel: Porcelain tea pot or gaiwan; or high-fired, low profile thin clay teapot if only used for jasmine scented teas.
Steeping: Boil water to 175F/79C and then wait for the water to stop bubbling before pouring the water down the inside of the brewing vessel, not directly on the leaves. Brew for 60 seconds, then replace the lid and pour the liquor into a gong dao bei (fairness pitcher) before apportioning into tea cups. Steep the tea a second time for 30 seconds. For the third and fourth steepings, infuse at a lower temperature(~140F) for 1-2 minutes or more. Remove the lid of the brewing vessel to allow the leaves to cool between steepings. Flash brewing in this manner ensures this tea can be brewed up to 3+ times.
Cold Brewing: Place 10g of tea in a pitcher. Pour 4 cups of cold, purified water down the side of the pitcher, not directly on the tea leaves. Can be enjoyed within two hour or brewed overnight for a stronger flavor.
