Buddhi is a feminine Sanskrit noun that means to be awake, to understand, to know, and to discern truth from falsehood, thereby making wisdom possible.  It is also the name of our favorite yoga studio.  We created this tea with Buddhi in mind, combining a blend of botanicals to bring balance to our bodies and knowledge to our minds.  Much the way we feel while taking a yoga or meditation class.

Buddhi Balance is made with South African long-cut rooibos. rose petals, peach nibs and  lavender buds.  The rooibos melds the tastes of the sweet honey bush, garden florals and summer stone fruits.

This tea is delicious when brewed with hot water or as a cold brewed infusion.  The Squirrel's favorite way to enjoy this tea is to add steamed and frothed milk to create a sweet, floral, feminine latte (see Brewing Recommendations).

Brewing Recommendations

Serving Size: 6-7g per 100ml of purified water.

Ideal Brewing Vessel: Ethoz Tea Brewer; Glass Lotus Easy Gaiwan: Porcelain tea pot with strainer; Metal tea infuser or tea sachet.

Western Style Brewing (Recommended): Boil water to 205F/96C. Steep for 3 minutes in Ethoz Tea Brewer.

Gong Fu Style Steeping: Boil water to 205F/96C and then wait for the water to stop bubbling before pouring the water down the inside of the brewing vessel, not directly on the leaves. Brew for 1 minute with lid on the gaiwan. Place a strainer over the top of a gong dao bei (fairness pitcher) before pouring in the tea infusion. Then apportion the elixir into tea cups.  Can be steeped again one more time. Re-steep Add 30 seconds for each subsequent brew. The lid should remain on the gaiwan between infusions to keep the leaves warm. Can be steeped one more time.

Cold Brew: 4g per 450ml of cold water. Refrigerate overnight.

Buddhi Balance Latte: Steep 2-3 tsp per 120ml (4oz) of purified water (205F/96C) (try using our Ethoz Tea Brewer). Pour into a matcha bowl (chawan). Pour in steamed milk and top with frothed milk.
