Collection: Red Tea
Red tea is slightly sweeter than other types of tea due to its processing. It is called red tea due to the color of the elixir after infusing the tea leaves. Hundreds of years ago, when tea from the east was brought to the west, it was called “black tea” by the English because the of the color of the dried leaves. So in the western world, red tea is called “black tea” and is the type consumed in iced teas (invented at the St. Louis World’s Fair in 1904) or English tea with milk and sugar (circa 1670). But in the eastern world, it is still referred to as red tea.
